Pure Romance is an in-home party company that sells a premier line of relationship aids, including lubricants, heighteners, and bedroom accessories. Pure Romance products are not available in stores; they may be purchased online or through our network of more than 40,000 independent sales consultants throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
In its 17 years, Pure Romance has grown into a multi-million-dollar company. While many businesses have struggled during this economically troubled period, Pure Romance has continued to flourish and grow each year, confirming that its business model is essentially recession proof.
From a basement in the suburbs of Cincinnati to a network of more than 40,000 Consultants across the continent, Pure Romance has come a long way in its 17-year history. Thanks to the vision and dedication of our CEO and Founder, Patty Brisben, we've grown into a multi-million-dollar corporation with no end in sight!
hen Pure Romance Founder and CEO Patty Brisben first decided to become a Consultant selling bedroom accessories, she had never even seen one before! She had no idea that her decision would lead to a lifetime of helping women empower themselves and improve their intimate lives, or to a multi-million-dollar corporation now in its 17th year.
At the time, she was simply looking for a way to help support her family — and in 1983, while on maternity leave from her job as a medical assistant, Patty saw an episode of The Phil Donahue Show about women who sold bedroom toys at home parties, and she found her way. She signed up at once and became so successful that after one year as a Consultant, she quit her job to pursue her newfound passion full time.
In 1993, Patty made the leap, launching her own corporation with $5,000 and 55 Consultants. She ran the new company out of her basement, packing orders and shipping products on top of doing her own parties and raising four children on her own!
During the first few years of building her new company, Patty laid the foundation for Pure Romance: an emphasis on high-quality products coupled with a clean and classy company image. In 2000, Patty's oldest son, Chris Cicchinelli, joined her in developing a plan to take the company to an entirely new level. Mother and son traveled the country, sharing the opportunity of Pure Romance through a nationwide grassroots campaign. Wherever they went, they added the personal touch that would set the tone for the rapidly growing "Pure Romance Family." Pure Romance is now a multi-million-dollar corporation with Consultants all across the nation, as well as in Canada and Puerto Rico — but Patty and Chris still continue their journey today, meeting with women and Consultants everywhere they go and sharing the message of Pure Romance: Entertainment, Education, and Empowerment!
Pure Romance looks forward to many more years of growth and advocacy for women's sexual health. Our goal remains to shed light on the issues and challenges women face regarding their sexuality, while always providing women with a safe, fun, and informative platform to ask questions and learn more about their intimate lives.
