Staying true to her commitment to sexual education, Pure Romance Founder and CEO, Patty Brisben, speaks as part of a national college tour series, The Naked Truth, comprising several university curriculums throughout the United States. The program introduces Pure Romance to all aspects of college-life, including classrooms, social groups, and even the traditional Greek community. Patty, along with members of the Pure Romance Health Education Department, have traveled to a number of universities to do presentations in many types of classes, including Human Sexuality, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and various psychology and sociology curriculums. Through The Naked Truth classroom presentations, Pure Romance has visited Indiana University, Purdue University, Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, University of Michigan, and University of Cincinnati.

Recently, Pure Romance has expanded The Naked Truth program into a week-long, comprehensive event, educating college students on many different sexual health and sexuality topics. We work with groups on campus, including health centers and peer educators, to create a week-long event for students, with topics, presentations, and events tailored to the wants and needs of the university. To date, Pure Romance has collaborated with Ball State University, Indiana University, and University of Cincinnati to plan events for students. We are working on events at other schools for 2009 that should prove to be just as successful as our previous events!

In addition to the week-long sexual health events that Pure Romance helps coordinate and sponsor, we have also been involved with sexuality and sexual health events at other universities, including Sex Week at Yale (of which Pure Romance was the main sponsor), Sex Out Loud at University of Illinois, and Sex on the Beach at Indiana University Southeast. We have also been involved with University of Wisconsin’s Sex Fest and Northwestern University’s Sex Week.

Patty's goal is to educate college students on safer sex, sexual health, and relationship maintenance - along with helping them to discover a comfortable place to explore their sexuality. A major component of Patty’s presentation is to help students understand all the aspects that are important in maintaining a healthy relationship; whether that is the relationship they have with themselves or a partner. Patty’s The Naked Truth presentation strives to debunk some of the societal myths about the adult retail industry and the role it plays in improving sexual health. She answers questions regarding all topics of sexuality and relationships, and gives students the confidence to ask their most personal questions which they may not have felt comfortable asking in a normal classroom setting. Patty is here to help young adults “get the truth before you get naked”!
