My Pure Romance Story: Teara
Share
I never knew a year and eight months ago (yes, you read that right!) that I would have what I do now, and I have Pure Romance to thank for it all! I am 32 years old, but five years ago, I started the hardest year of my life. I was 27 years old, married to an amazing man, had a two-year-old son and a five-week-old son, and was in my second semester of grad school, working on my Masters in Nursing and my Neonatal Nurse Practitioners License. Life was perfect…until it suddenly wasn’t. My husband and father to both my boys became very sick and underwent an emergency surgery. A year-long battle with infection, blood clots, two abdominal surgeries, a colostomy placement, and monthly hospital admissions consumed my life; all while my boys spent time in and out of hospital waiting rooms and with family and friends. I continued to work, go to school, try to be a mother, and try to be a care giver and wife to my husband. My youngest son crawled for the first time at his aunt’s house, said his first word at a friend’s house, and took his first steps at Nana’s – and I missed them all. Life was such a struggle. Then, one year after his first surgery, my husband passed from undiagnosed cancer. I became a 28-year-old widow with two babies, in my second-to-last semester of grad school. I was completely lost.
I finished my degree and graduated on time. I was all my boys had, so I pushed when I thought I had nothing left to push for. I met someone, and a friendship advanced quickly – we were married in 2018. Life was improving, but one problem continued: I was in a lot of debt due to the struggles I’d previously faced. I devoted myself to paying off debt and staying current on bills, but I missed most of the days with my children. Mommy was always busy. I said it was for my kids, so they could have what they needed, but what they needed – and what I needed – was for me to be home with them.
In February 2019, I attended a Pure Romance party with my best friend. At the time I was working a full-time job and two part-time night shift jobs, was a volunteer firefighter, a newlywed, and a very busy mom. I had always loved the products, but this party was different. I saw the income potential from a business standpoint that night. I spoke with the Consultant, then with my husband, and I started my side-hustle that night. I worked very hard because I had HUGE goals in mind. In the beginning, I was away from home even more than before, but eight months after saying yes to the opportunity, I quit one of those part time jobs; and two months after that, I quit the other! I was making moves to stay home with my kids and not miss any more of their lives.
More than a year after saying “yes!” to Pure Romance, I work full-time as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, working eight 24-hour shifts a month, and Pure Romance is my side-hustle. I am available most days to take my kids to school or attend ball games or awards events. I also have a three-month-old daughter and during maternity leave, I didn’t have to worry about paying bills thanks to my Pure Romance business. I have built an amazing Pure Romance team full of women who are always there for me when need encouragement in my business or in my personal life. I love the support and can’t begin to describe the fun! Meeting another Pure Romance Consultant for the first time is amazing because it feels like you’ve known each other for years and already share common interests. In my time with Pure Romance, I have also been able to travel to places I’ve never seen and do things I never would have done before. I am so passionate about this business and what it can do for women: from the products we offer, to the knowledge we share, to the laughs we enjoy, to the life-changing opportunity we promote. Pure Romance is the perfect side gig and is exactly what you need, when you need it.
Pure Romance has changed my life and continues to do so. I’m not done growing. I’m not done achieving. I’m not done winning. My future is so full, and the potential in front of me is endless!
