FRACTIONATED COCONUT OIL: EXPLAINED
Share
The secret’s out—not all oils are created equal.
Maybe you’ve seen our Fractionated Coconut Oil from the HēLi (healthy living) collection and you’ve wondered what exactly “fractionated” means, and you aren’t sure how to use it. No worries—it’s a lot simpler than it sounds.
The Fraction Reaction
First off, Fractionated Coconut Oil is amazing. You can use our Fractionated Coconut Oil (or FCO) as a hair and skin conditioner, but it also works as an incredible massage oil.
In its natural state, coconut oil is solid. Our FCO stays liquid because we remove a FRACTION (get it?) of the fatty acids that would normally make it solid. (By the way, when you see coconut oil in beauty products, it’s usually FCO.)
Still with us? Awesome.
Putting that Fraction into Action
The best thing about FCO is that it’s completely mixable with essential oils, allowing you to customize your aromatherapy massage oil from home! (Yes, please!)
Here’s how: take FCO and mix it in your hands with a few drops of the essential oil blend of your choice, then get ready to soothe and smooth!
But is it Vagina-Safe?
As a company invested in women’s sexual health, we get lots of questions about whether FCO can be used as a lubricant. While FCO is vagina safe, we don’t recommend it for daily use, especially if you’re prone to vaginal bacterial or yeast infections. If you’re considering using FCO as a lubricant, consult your physician. In the meantime, you can check out Just Like Me, our ph-balanced, water-based lubricant designed for everyday use.
And there you have it. If you’re all about high-quality products with multiple uses, FCO is the product for you. Grab a bottle—and the rest of the HēLi collection—to see where it takes you.
