CBD FAQs
What is CBD?
CBD (Cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring chemical compound (or cannabinoid) in the hemp plant. There are more than 100 types of cannabinoids that occur naturally in hemp.
CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found throughout nature—in green vegetables and other plants and even our own bodies. (In the body, they’re called endocannabinoids. “endo” means inside.)
The CBD in our products is 100% hemp-derived and contains less than 0.3% THC, consistent with U.S. law.
Can CBD get me “high”?
No. Unlike THC, another type of cannabinoid most associated with marijuana, CBD is non-intoxicating, so you won’t feel “buzzed” or “high” when using any of our CBD products.
How much CBD is in each product?
The amount of CBD per entire container is listed on the front of the packaging.
Water-Based Lubricant: 90mg of CBD isolate per entire bottle
Body Soak: 240mg of CBD isolate per entire bag
Massage Melt: 100mg of Broad Spectrum CBD per entire jar
Are Pure Romance CBD products THC-free?
We test our products to confirm the absence of tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC); however, THC is inherently present in trace amounts (no more than 0.3%) in hemp plants.
All Pure Romance CBD products have a Certificate of Analysis (CofA) that can be downloaded here. The CofA provides exact information regarding THC levels in each product.
Will use of Pure Romance CBD products show up on a drug test?
The consumption of certain hemp products, such as our products, may lead to a positive drug test for tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), as THC is inherently present in trace amounts (no more than 0.3%) in hemp plants. We test our products to confirm the absence of THC; however, sensitivities of drug testing methodologies may vary and therefore, if you are required to pass a drug test, we recommend avoiding all hemp products.
Do you have documentation certifying your CBD products?
Yes, our manufacturer has performed 3rd party testing on our CBD raw materials. Testing is currently in process on the products themselves. Once this is complete, we will post the results. Our CBD is derived from hemp plants grown by licensed/certified farmers required by law to ensure their plants have no more than 0.3% THC, a virtually non-detectable amount.
Documents can be downloaded below with the links to the Certificate of Analysis and Licenses/Certificates for both the CBD Isolate and the Broad-Spectrum CBD. Please note, documents will vary in appearance based the State’s requirements in which it is grown/handled.
What do you mean by CBD isolate versus broad-spectrum CBD?
CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD extracted from hemp. All other plant compounds and cannabinoids have been removed from the isolate. Our Water-Based Lubricant and Body Soak are both infused with CBD isolate.
Broad-spectrum CBD oil is also extracted from hemp, but it contains other compounds and cannabinoids that naturally exist in hemp, except THC. Our Massage Melt is infused with broad-spectrum CBD oil.
What is the difference between CBD and hemp seed oil?
Hemp seed oil, or Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, contains trivial amounts of cannabinoids, including CBD. Another difference is in the name—hemp seed oil is extracted from the hemp seed, while CBD is extracted from hemp’s flowers or leaves. Our CBD oils are extracted from hemp flowers.
Where does your hemp come from?
The CBD infused in our products was extracted from hemp grown and cultivated in the United States. Our CBD isolate was extracted from hemp grown in Kentucky while our broad-spectrum CBD was extracted from hemp grown in Oregon.
How do our CBD products differ from others available on the market?
Like any Pure Romance product, our CBD-infused body and intimacy products are made according to the highest standards with formulas unique to Pure Romance. We stand behind the quality of our products and the standards of our growers. We can provide documentation to support the quality of our products.
Do your CBD-infused products expire? What is their shelf life?
As with all cosmetics, potency may dissipate over time. Below are the manufacturers recommended time frames for use:
Water-Based Lubricant
Unopened: 3 years
Opened: 6-8 months
Massage Melt
Unopened: 1 year
Opened: 6-8 months
Body Soak
Unopened: 3 years

Will the Massage Melt melt when it is hot outside / Why are there beads on the top of my Massage Melt?
The melting point of this product is 185° F (85° C). The top layer will sweat during the summer, meaning only the top layer will get little beads of oil from the heat, but this doesn’t affect the product’s quality. There is no freezing point for this product since it doesn’t contain any water in the formula.
