This historical drama combines action and romance thanks to the undeniable magnetism of its stars Caitriona Balfe (who plays Claire) and Sam Heughen (who plays Jamie). They are often placed in impossible situations, due to the fact that Balfe plays a World War II nurse transported to 1743 Scotland. These two keep you entranced with their romance and unbreakable trust, plus they just can’t keep their hands off each other!

Valeria

Spain is sexy. Case in point: Valeria is the second show on this list set there. While it does focus more on the life of titular character Valeria (Diana Gómez), you also get a glimpse into the sex lives of her three friends. Lola (Silma López) in particular will have you on the edge of your seat as she gets hot and heavy with a married man… in public… multiple times.

This under-the-radar Brazilian miniseries is the super steamy erotic thriller you just might be looking for. Miranda (Débora Nascimento) is a voyeuristic hacker whose new neighbor, Cléo (Emanuelle Araújo), just happens to be a high-end sex worker. The two strike up a friendship, which results in Miranda dogsitting for Cléo…which results in a case of mistaken identity and a mind-blowing tryst with one of her new friend’s clients. Eventually, Miranda finds herself caught up in a dangerous investigation involving lust, secrets, and murder.

This modern London-based show follows a group of young college grads as they vie for permanent positions at an investment firm in the highly competitive world of finance. Needless to say, tensions are high…and there’s a lot of sex. Unlike the HBO of old, though, the sex and nudity doesn’t just exist because it can, it’s a vital part of the story that lends a new dimension to the characters. As these young characters navigate the nature of uncertainty, brushes with power, and lack of control, they engage in sex as a means to take back that control, exercise their limited power, and fight back against a world that always seems to be against them.

In the original 2005 movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s characters were a married couple who discover that – after years of marriage – they are both actually undercover spies working for competing firms. In this version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the titular couple (played by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine) are spies who must go undercover as a married couple. Of COURSE things are gonna turn steamy. Suddenly thrust together, their real relationship grows as the fake one is continually put to the test. You meet, you fall in love, you fight, you literally try to kill each other.

Shōgun

Shōgun has been one of the breakout hits of 2024. It’s a story that takes place in 17th century Japan, mainly following Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a powerful regent, who is embroiled in plenty of political intrigue, and John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English sailor who suffers extreme culture shock when he ends up shipwrecked on the isolationist island, and becomes embroiled in the religious and political turmoil of the region. That may not sound like the sexiest premise, but enter Toda Mariki (Anna Sawai) who acts as Blackthorne’s translator. After a hefty dose of flirting, the two eventually begin a steamy – and forbidden – on-and-off romance. Which naturally makes it all the hotter.

 

Bridgerton
